Switzerland, also known as the first stop the tour…

We began our two week honeymoon excursion in Zurich because I desperately wanted to see the Bontanical Gardens.

Owned by the University of Zurich, these gardens contain countless species of flora from around the world, some of which are extremely rare and even endangered. Three weirdly beautiful and imposing glass and metal domes house cactus and succulents, tropicals, carniverous plants, rainforest denizens and more.

It looks like this as you begin your approach to the greenhouses. The gate to plant nirvana as far as I’m concerned. Swoon!

Once inside you’re greeted by a plethora of green goodness…

Not to mention exotic desert floor flowers.

And feathery leaves with perfect, delicate blooms!

Outside the flower patches are lush and grandiose. Must be all the rain.

The steps towards the exit. Sadly it’s time to go, we have a train to catch.
